Does anyone know if the steering in a 1963 Lincoln Continential can be changed. My bubby has this car which turns fine to the left, but not so well to the right. He searched for a replacement but was unsuccesful.

Now he is thinking about swaping the stock steering to something else...any suggestions????????

    thanks

Tell your bubby to check the rubber bushings between the steering box and the frame. It is a common problem for these Lincolns, the bushings rot and sometimes one disappears over the years, then the steering box becomes loose on the frame. You turn the wheel one direction, the box is forced tight against the frame, the other it is pulled away, and if it's loose, that's where the steering movement has gone. Either put in new bushings or mount it solid.
