    Hi all,

I changed the front bench seat in my '63 Fairlane 4 door to Grand Cherokee power bucket seats which opened up the tranny tunnel. Ever since I had the idea of making a center console to fill up that space. Searching the net didn't came up with something for my taste so I build it from scratch. I had to buy the hinges and that ws all I needed, the rest was material laying in the shop. The lifting motor is a Mercedes door pull unit. I had to put some micro switches to make it work.

When you turn the ignition on, the system is energized and waiting for a command. The command will be a push button on the stock radio to wake up the system. When you turn of the ignition (Accs.), all folds up nicely under the cover. I will have to cover the console with vinyl and some chrome SS so it matches the interior of my Fairlane.

    Just wanted to share.

    Hi everybody,

Wrapped the whole console with some burgundy vinyl and a few chrome trim parts. Looks a way better now. Still have to wrap the bottom with some carpet to make it look stock.
