I picked up a 1963 galaxie fastback its a 2door car and i ran the VIN off the tag and ***le 3A66z which indicates its a 63 atlanta 4door ltd with 390?? every where i look my car is supposed to have a 3a63z vin could someone have switched this? ok sorry figured it out ! FNG
are you reading the VIN as data plate info? the door tag should have the VIN and the requisite codes on it to tell what the car is. the VIN itself does not ALWAYS reflect the body code number. ferinstance; the name or designation "LTD" didn't come until the 1965 model year as a trim level. post the VIN WITHOUT the last six numbers (those are the sequence count and nobody but you needs to know them) and somebody here will be able to verify what the plant, body code, etc SHOULD be. every MOTOR repair manual has a Ford VIN decoding page in it, as well. Dennis Carpenter catalogs usually do, as well.
