On a 1964-66 Chevy C10 is a long bed rear step side fender the same size as a short bed rear step fender? I need to replace the rear p***enger fender that has some rot at the bottom front part only. The rusted out area is in a critical spot where a strut rod bolts to the fender and side step to support the weight of a person standing on it. I checked with seven of the major vendors that have been mentioned here from time to time, and a patch panel is not offered for the rear step side fenders.

P***enger side is the same, the drivers side has the spare tire well in a slightly different spot, if my memory sorta works the LWB mounted the spare higher in the fender.

Jalopy45, Thanks for the response. Actually the LWB stepside mounted the tire lower because there is more distance between the fender and the cab, allowing for even a larger tire to be mounted lower. The SWB step side's tire mounted much higher, due to space restrictions. I thought I read somewhere the fenders were not interchangeable and that may be the reason. Which may imply the length, wheel opening, number of mounting bolts are the same. Only the indentation in the driver's side fender for the spare is different. I don't want to buy a rear fender at a swap meet or Craig's list and find out it won't bolt up.
