I have acquired. a 64 sportvan , the steering box needs to rebuilt ,or replaced . I can't find any info . has anyone found or switched out one of these boxes ??
It says Sparta. I know it's not near Greece and going by the avatar, it's a safe bet he's somewhere in the USA. South East probably.
From his sales adds Sparta Tennesee Halfway between Nashville and Knoxville. Looking it up on Rock Auto the box shows up as a Lares 8791 Rebuild. 1964 CHEVROLET G10 3.2L 194cid L6 Steering Gear | RockAuto Further searching the number shows that summit says they have some in stock. Lares Corporation 8791 Lares Remanufactured Steering Gears | Summit Racing O'Reillys shows them but they want 571 bucks here.
