Nice car, congrats can we have some more pictures please

  3. Wow, what a find! Did you find it at the Pick-A-Part in Sun Valley? What shocks me the most is that somebody who works in the yard didn't beat you to it first. I'll bet that was Grandma's car at one time. It looks like it was never molested.

I'm a Chevy guy, but I really dig those little Fairlanes. Factory black, even better. Time to bolt up some restored straight spoke Torq Thrusts, some big/littles, and give it a hot rod rake......

I have to ask.....if you buy a car from a major wrecking yard like that, does it automatically come with a salvage title? The reason why I'm asking, the local Ecology yard has got a couple of bitchin' little mid-60s Falcons and a cherry '69 Toronado in their For Sale section. I really don't want a salvage title because it makes it a tough sell if I ever decide to sell the car.

HOLY CRAP! As others have said, you got that from a pick a part yard? Only in my wildest imagination would something that nice show up near me.

Nice! Real nice, Pete, we never see anything like that around here. But I thought you said the asking price was on the windshield? :D

Snip a coil, unpolished 5 spokes and polish the exterior for a week-bingo killer cool ride for cheap!

Boy, that brings back memories ! I had a black 64' with a red interior, 271 horse with 4-speed and 3.90 rear. That thing was killer from stoplight to stoplight. It goes into my top five of cars I wish I had back !

Nice score! That's a pretty sweet car to find at a pick a part place! What are your plans for it?

Great find, Pete, and thanks for saving it. It would have been such a shame for that car to sit and get parted out over the next few years. Congrats!

Such a cherry little car! Thanks for saving it! The part of this story that terrifies me the most is how such a beautiful car (a runner no less) ended up in a U-Pull It lot like that in first place.

    Scary thought :(

It's still listed on Pick-A-Part's website for Monrovia... I assume you dealt with Sid there? Real nice guy who likes to see cars go to good homes. I rescued this little Hillman wagon there for a friend:

And yes it got a salvage title, but for this car I don't think it's a big issue. Too bad they didn't let you keep the plates, but that's state law...

I'd guess the owner died, and whoever handled the estate didn't care enough to sell it by classified ad. At least it went to the Pick-a-part and not the scrapper.
