Good evening. Strange story. I went out to the garage tonight to do a lowering job on our 64 fairlane ranch wagon, and have anew issue. The nub on top of the lowering block appears to be normal size (I have done this many of times) but the the upper axle perch is HUGE in comparison to the nub on the block. Same story on the bottom. The nub on the wagon is HUGE and the accepting hole on the block is small. Thoughts? Ideas? I didn't want to get into a custom situation as this is just out in town cruiser. Thanks for your thoughts and feedback in advance.
Measure the inside and outside diameter, go down to your local Ace hardware store and find the drawer with all the bushings in it. If it too tall saw off what you don't need. Also some tubing so work. Copper or aluminum, buy it there too. Good luck.
I assume drill out the bottom hole on the block as well? Thanks for the reply! Sent from my SM-G920T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
If I'm remembering correctly , Fords of this era had a rubber insulater wrapping the springs and center pin (bolt) . This is the reason holes in axle pad and spring plate seem so large . As suggested , some tubing or a nut drilled out to use as a busing should fix you up fat .
