Projects 1964 Falcon B/FX Build Thread

Hey how’s it going. I have the axles out and center section out getting new gears. Going from 4.11 to 3.50. I have so much torque down low, this will hopefully make it easier to drive. Also, I was running out of gear and hitting the rev limiter before the finish line. Hope to have the center section back this week to get it all buttoned up. I will be racing at Bakersfield for Dragfest in a couple weeks. I have to finish wiring the neutral safety switch and mounting the parachute cable at the back of the car per NHRA rules. Trying to come up with a good cable mount.

How about a summer update? Got that all dialed in now?

 

I have had it out for a few car shows, but no racing this summer. I will be racing 9/28 at Fontana and then in October at the hotrod reunion. I need to get the Gas gauge working properly and do some minor maintenance (spark plugs, tighten headers). I got a 55 Victoria earlier this year so I have been working on deconstructing it, getting ready for paint/ motor/ trans etc. and I am building a 64 Fairlane sedan t bolt clone for my dad. We have a 427 with high riser heads and intake that I had, to put on it, plus a toploader so it should be a cool car.

 

What about the poor neglected Comet? Do you still have it?

We are actually really close in performance! Within 1mph of each other. That 351W is strong

Lots of fun, best of 11.01 at 122. Cars consistent within .2 in 9 passes. Yet to hit the 10s. I will post another run of Dale and I soon, best race I have had. Our cars are within .008 of each other and speed is within .4 MPH
