1964 mercury engine color

Hello I'm restoring my 1964 mercury marauder it has a 390. I want to know what color is the engine. the valve cover and air cleaner ***y is gold but not sure what color is the engine block. any info out there?


also I"m missing the center cover for the air cleaner ***y thanks in advance

 

American made 390's are black
