I HAVE A 65 RIV WHAT MOTORS WILL DROP RIGHT IN AND WHAT YEARS TO LOOK FOR MINE CAME WITH NO MOTOR AND TRANNY .BESIDES THE 401 -425 JUST TRYING TO GET IT ON THE ROAD FOR NOW.
I am always the first person to commit sacrilege to a car in my firends eyes, chevy in a ford, Pontiac in a chevy, ford in a chevy. But after having got my hands on an all original 65 Riviera, find a Nailhead. These damn cars are just slick, and the nailhead just adds to it. Mine isn't going to be on the street for another month or so, and I already got ANOTHER Nailhead to build a performance but not crazy engine with. there isn't a ton of these 65's out there.
if you put a small block chevy in you will need a chevyII oil pan.cut off old motor mounts(hits fuel pump) weld in new ones. and use 58-64 impala headers(x-frame)
I love it... FNG #1 asks what will drop right into his car. Over a year passes FNG #2 brings a worthless thread back up and explains how to hack up FNG #1 car. Priceless.
LOL, NOW THAT'S FUNNY. I'm wondering you're the one that sold me the Dual Quad 425 out of a Riviera in Howell. Kind of idiotic really.
Nailhead and only a Nailhead, Less grief than mucking about and messing up a fine automobile. 425ci/ 465 ftlbs tourqe what the hell else would you want?
