1965 Riviera Headlight Replacement

I need to replace a burned out headlight bulb on my ’65. It’s pretty hard to see in there. *I see one flathead screw that seems to hold on the ring, and a spring. Is this all? Any trick to remove the spring and make sure it goes back on correctly?

 

The (those, should be two...) flathead screws are the adjusting screws. Don't fiddle with them. And for Pete's sake, leave the spring alone! It's a real pain in the *** to get it back in and then replace the adjusting screws. Remove the headlight bezel and look for the three #2 Phillips head screws that hold the stainless/tinuminum ring around the outer edge of the bulb. Remove those three screws and the bulb should pop right out. Pull the plug off carefully (might take a wiggle) and put the plug on the new bulb. Put the bulb back into the bucket, put the ring back over it and tighten down the three Phillips-heads screws. Replace the bezel. Done. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes, and that's if the Phillips-head screws are rounded out. Five minutes if they're not.

The flathead screws and spring are attached to the bucket. You don't need to remove the bucket to change a bulb. You'ld just be making it harder than it has to be.
