... Has anyone ever seen a 1967 Camaro SS 396/375 car that ran A/FX Cl*** ? ... This is a photo of the Camaro that I own today and the photo was taken when the car was Brand New ! ... It still has the Original Paint but now has hand painted lettering on it that was done shortly after it was new. ... It has Always been a drag car. It has never been registered with license plates to drive on the street. ... It has 1122 Actual miles. ... It was built just 2 days after Grumpy Jenkins Camaro. ... The bottom photo is how the car looks today ! ... Still has the Original Paint !
... This is NOT For Sale The guy I got this car from has drag raced his whole life. He is 88 years old. I thought that maybe some of you may remember him ... They called him "Cheatin Keeton"
Yes , post to off topic, One of my family members has a DZ302 from day one drag car, then mid 90s changed back to street, Another family member his 67 super sport Chev II Drag & Street car straight from dealer ,
I know where there's a 427 'Vette in a transmission shop that's never been registered, numbers match, only ever drag raced.
What a beauty! There's a '68 Z close to me that was drag raced from new. I have a 325 hp '67 with column shift auto that I have known of the car since new.
I have a Friend that has one that is running a 468 Al K Hall . It’s same color , I had to do a double take on the images . His was an impound when almost new , from Newport , Ky . We think probably a gangster’s car , and never returned to the area .
Run the VIN thru Super Car site. Might be an early Bill Thomas, or DANA Camaro. Build week might tell something too.
Really cool original Camaro. Web says 1138 built w/396-375 in '67. Sure would like to see more history on this hen's tooth! Nice!
I found an original L78, eng and trans long gone, orig traction bar rear. Manual 4 piston disc brake, Fast Ratio Manual steering, Dealer Installed 4.56 gears, dated 1967. 10 owner car, was solid but tired. Brother restored it, sold it in early 2010?
When the very first L78 Camaros were released they were not initially available to the general public so the NHRA cl***ed them as Factory Experimental. FX came about in 1962, and before that there was O/SS, Optional Super Stock. If for example Mickey Thompson had a factory intake manifold that wasn’t available to everyone that put the car into O/SS. Once the 396/375 Camaro became an RPO those cars fell into Super Stock.
