    Hey All!
I'm trying to help a friend recover his 1967 Winternationals trophy. His name is Dick Burley and his '23 T Roadster Pickup was labeled as the "Worlds Fastest Street Roadster" You may have read about him in the September 2010 Rod & Custom. Anyway, my wife knew his niece Judy and we visted her in Las Vegas. At her home was Dick's trophy and I'm trying to find it and give it back to him. My wife is trying to get a hold of Judy as I write this but I'm not sure if we will be able to contact her or not. If anyone knows where this trophy is today, please let me know. I'd like to see Dick get it back.
PM me if you have any info.

Okay, a little more info to help find this trophy. Dick Burley's niece Judy was married to a guy named Cal Barnum. They lived in Henderson Nevada and Cal was a steel worker in the LV/Hendersen area. If anyone knew Cal and Judy let me know if you know how to get ahold of them. I heard that Cal had passed but cannot verify. I understand that Judy now lives in Cali.
    Any help is appreciated!!
    Thanx, Mike

I believe my dad drove for him at the time, James Walker. Are you still in touch with Dick? If so, please have him email me at Carrie.malone@effem.com. Thank you!

  4. I've known Dick for a long time and he's a great guy. I just saw him and his wife at the supermarket the other day, and they were sporting their Keith Black Racing Engines jackets. Dick and Keith were best friends. Dick had a very interesting history with Keith, being Keith's clutch guy on the Greer, Black, and Prudhomme Top Fuel car. Legend has it that during a between-rounds thrash on the car, Dick accidentally installed the clutch discs backwards and the car went down the track without smoking the tires. It was their secret for awhile before everybody else figured it out.

During the summer months, Dick will take out the '23 to cruise nights, blown Hemi and all. It's really cool to see a national event winner on the street.

I talk to his son Mike from time to time. Like his Mom and Dad, great people.

I'm so glad to hear Dick and Mary are doing well. I've known them since I was a kid, we used to go dirt bike riding together.
