Fellas, I'm working on a 68 Dodge D100 and it has this pressure switch on it. It is on top of a mechanical oil press port and it has 3 terminal NC, NO, C. How are each of these terminals usually wired? Thank you.
I'm pretty sure that is an aftermarket add on switch. It would be used to power an accessory only when the engine was running. Commonly used to run an electric fuel pump but it could be anything that they wanted turned on and off with the engine. NO = normally open NC = normally closed C = common, used for power or ground.
Onetrickpony, thank you. I got some info similar from my internet "research". They had it wired with all 3 positions. 1 to the ignition relay, another to power and another just hanging, so guess whatever it was powering had been removed....
I'm using a similar switch from GM vehicles. I use the third terminal to power the electric choke, only when oil pressure is indicated. That way you can have the key on for awhile without heating the choke. .bjb
