The way I understand it, the '64 and older rule is for the Classifieds only. Thanks to a Ex-HAMBer that kept posting ads for latemodel garbage... The HAMB is for Trad Hot Rods and Customs... Much harder to define than a Year of manufacture... So why dont we just wait and see if the New Guy is actually going to buy this Car, and if he does, if he turns it into something we want to look at.
i love the car. the haters can go drive off a cliff with their "death trap traditional cars." and yeah, there are ALOT of off topic crap posted on this board that has nothing to do with cars, and someone posts something with an actual car and they get hated on. there is more out there than just flat black and white walls.
Yeah, yeah... Whatever. And then you put a quote of Jesse James in your sig line, like they are profound words of wisdom or something...
Gentleman, Yes the Classifieds are cut off at 1964 unless the 65 model year looks the same Example - Buick Rivs. With all do respect to Ryan, he set up those years to buy and sell and common sense would lean toward keeping the H.A.M.B. main board to that 64 and earlier era. Anyfurther discussions on this should be directed toward the moderators and (maybe) it will be taken further to Ryan. Just use 1964 or older to use as a base to use for discussions. Lets leave it here and go back to having fun with the older iron - Eh ! Thanks, Cob Forum moderator
do you have a problem with my sig?? i liked the quote, i'm not saying he's a revolutionary or something. attempting to be "1950's rockabilly" is like masturbating...now matter how good you get at it, its not the real thing. maybe i should send you pics and specs of the new z06, see how you like that. oh, and one more thing, our world is being taking over by toyota hybrid cars. yeah i dont like it either, but thats just so you cant sleep tonight.
All you have to do is read about 25 post, and you'd see what the focus of this board is. Really don't see what the BFD is here. There's no camaro post, no mustang post, and sure the hell no 70 fury post. Posting about a 70 fury here is like asking a camaro question at a vintage mustang site. Sure, it's a car of the same era, but it's not the intent and focus of that board. Put a 440 into a chopped and channeled 31 Chysler, and you'd be in the focus of the HAMB. It really is that simple.
I was 13yrs old. I was helping my ol man build a roadster for his employer on the weekends. It was just a 30s lookin thing with a tubular skeleton for a body then skinned with aluminum. He built the headers to go through the front fenders and turn in to side pipes, chopped down a 60 Oldmobile for a chassis and power, made the wheels wider by rolling some cold rolled steel to the right diameter and then cut the rims down on a lathe and welded em together to get 10" rims on all 4 corners. I know it sounds as funky as it looked but that beotch was fast! In between we had bought a 36 Buick 2dr to freshen up and re-sell, then plopped a 390 Caddy in his 67 F-100. After whippin ass on my uncles 430 powered 62 uni-body we dropped a 390 Caddy in that too. Wow, 1970 was busy year. That's the first time I spied one of those Furys BTW...the next door neighbor was a part-time Mopar salesman. He worked at Trenton Engine and all his kids (older) had new Mopar iron. A Sattelite Sebring, a 70 'Cuda 340, and a 383 Challenger. To me, back then, they weren't "kool enuff" for me to care much about em. And besides...the ol man's 67 F-100 could spank the pants off the 340 'Cuda.
At the risk of bringing this back to the top, just have everyone start bitchin...That's a cool body style. If he gets one and treats it like a CUSTOM, only with a big motor stuffed in it, then I say "hell yeah...let's see it!". I'd drive the hell outta one of those, personally...but then again, I drive a 65 wagon...and a 66 Econoline before that. Guess I'm on the wrong board, too?
