Looking for articles about Tucson Jaysees race at Corona Speedway that my father in Law Dennis Matousek won in 1975. He is almost 85 and if I could find newspaper article it would make him so happy because all of us old drivers still miss racing and what we did back then is all we think about. I have the flyer for the race but I'm 57 20240512_143317.jpg and I guess I need a 10 year old to show me how to do this

According to Newspapers.com, the following newspapers ran articles on the race (and talk about him):
Arizona Daily Star, Friday, May 23, 1975, page 54 (qualifying)
Arizona Daily Star, Monday, May 26, 1975, page 21
Tucson Daily Citizen, Monday, May 26, 1975, page 33
Arizona Daily Star, Tuesday, May 27, 1975, page 20
Unfortunately, my subscription is limited to viewing snippets, not the full articles. There may be other articles in papers that aren’t in the Newspapers.com system. Your library may be able to get you copies of the articles.

Their website touts "a decades-long backlist" of the Arizona Star, but in another spot lists access back to 1991 (I couldn’t check, it requires a library card to access). If it isn’t available online, they aren’t likely to have it unless they have it on microfilm. Its certainly worth a call. I would ask for the reference librarian. A good reference librarian may have other options for getting the articles without having to make the drive.
