does anyone know how to by pass the neutral start/backup light switch?

  2. Screwdriver across the two terminals on the starter. Just don't let it touch anything else when you do it. Dave

Can you just ground the center wire to the frame?

  4. Yeah, that works too. The center wire is the neutral wire, when it's grounded, starter works, ungrounded starter doesn't work. Doesn't explain why you need to do this...
If the starter relay is the same as the older ones, which it undoubtedly is, there should be 2 terminals at the top of it, one to the neutral switch, which is brown, and the other to the ignition switch, which is yellow. Jumper the brown one to ground. Dave

[IMG]I dont know either but for some reason it just stops working. Might be this worn out linkage assembly. Cant adjust it to make it work. I need to get it out of the way so this is like a temp bandaid.
