1989 F-150 trans stuck in reverse (M50DR2)

Hi all,

I transplanted the M50DR2 (Mazda built) trans and the 302/5.0 from our 1989 F-150 into my 51 F1 project. The trans is absolutely stuck in reverse. The shifter acts like it is in neutral (will move across the gate) but will not go into any gear.
Has anyone ran into this? Any suggestions ? The pictures will not do much to help, but I know we all like our pictures

 

Was the shifter ever removed from the trans?

 

Those trans are notorious for shifter fork issues. You will need to pull it apart to fix

 

I had one of those that the shifter tower was badly worn. I would pull the shifter and line up the slots before doing anything else.
