  1. Yeah that Christmas Party was a good time. Steve hooked us all up with RD Mags. Joe/Junkyard Dog brought those giant venison steaks

I missed this video till just now. (not finished watching it yet..) I had no idea the car was using a selector trans instead of the top shift Buick.

  3. How cool is that to have this film of when he picked it up.........A real find

Getting back to this a little late. Yeah that is Curt, and Creative Metalworks! At that time nailheads were pretty rare, and the Internet was in its infancy to find parts. Seems like there everywhere now.

    Rocky,
I still haven't seen another set of these valve covers. I'm sure there must be some out there. The car has pedals in the floor.... Sometimes I kinda wonder if I should have went with a flat aluminum firewall and hanging pedals, it would have been a little more correct, and I sure as hell would have more space in the chassis. I'm pretty sure those are your old pedals in the car now.

    F&J,
My guess is the car never ran with the selector trans, or if it did maybe it was shifted crudely, and maybe it's part of the reason the car got stuffed away. Hard to tell. Shifts great now, though I just have 80-90 gear oil and wonder if it should have something heavier viscosity.

Yeah, he always gravitated to stuff with history, had a story, had some rarity, or uniqueness. He had to photograph, and write about some cars during the "billet era" of street rodding, but always managed to fit in a good share of traditional cars. A lot of us made it through the fuschia, scallop, graphic era completely unscathed!

  16. Was just chatting with Phillipe Danh about Steve the other day. He did not know of Steves passing until I told him.
