Hey guys...I'm needing some technical advice. I've got a line on a very good used '93 model AOD w/torque converter. I've been told that this is a non-electronic AOD, which is what I want. Is it correct that they were still non-electronic in 93? Also, in order to verify the year, is there a marking or number somewhere on the AOD that will specify this? Anything else I need to know before I go buy this thing tomorrow? Thanks, Don
Its easy to tell if its an AOD and not an AODE actually. The AOD does not have an electrical connector going into the case. 1993 was the last year for the AOD, so it should be good for you. The AODE will have a round White electrical connector coming through the case, Im pretty sure its on the p***enger side but I haven't seen one in a while. The only Electrical connection on an AOD would be the neutral switch. here are pics of an AOD: drivers side: http://www.northland-falcons.com/Ford-AOD-001.jpg p*** side: http://www.northland-falcons.com/Ford AOD-002.jpg
