I do not have any pics of just the frame on mine. I'm one of those guys that once I get started, I go for a while and forget to post pics. Mine is real simple to me. 24" at the front and it ends up at 29' in the rear. I used 2X3 rectangular tubing and built mine. The roll bar I had a stock car place bend for me. welded it in place and ran two more towards the front at approx a 45 degree angle(give or take a few degrees). I actually went to where it looked right. I also added several more bars down to the frame from these that run forward, after all it's my *** in the seat and I thought better safe than sorry. A piece of channel for the ****** mount and weld it and the rear end in place, and you have a funtional frame.
Probably won't be much help as you're building a "Bug" style set-up but you can see our (middie) Buick frame in my sig link. Uncommon brand name frames can often be had at a very good price for the buyer and anything can be done with'em, it doesn't have to be a Ford or Chev. If you're willing to go get'em they can occasionally even be had for free, but if they've been hauled to a meet that obviously isn't likely. Simi Valley's not all that bad a base area from which to find off-brand stuff still around either (at least not as bad as L.A.). Still plenty of farms, ranches and groves within reasonable driving range. P*** the word for any old frames around locally and see what turns up. Our parts pile was pulled in over several months last winter and we still had to chase down some of it after we started the build, late in February. Good luck with it.
Kurt, I went with the T rails because they were light and cheap. Picked up ours for $50.00 and have seen several others for under $100.00 so you shouldn't have any trouble finding some. As Old6 said there are lots of other brand frames laying around out there, it just takes some hunting to find them, and half the fun is in the scrounging. Keep us posted on your progress.

"I'm not sure what you mean by the above. I'm in the brainstorming and collecting parts phase." Sorry, I hadn't intended to be vague. I'll clarify (I hope). Your parts were laid out "roadster" style, as was the original "Bug", the concept car for the cl*** and the majority of builds to date. Thus my ***umption (perhaps invalid) was that you're looking to build in that style. As our car's frame is for a mid-engine set-up it may not be sufficiently relevant as a reference. Still, it's available to see via the "Barn Job" link in my signature.
Don't wish to sound like a tool, but do a search here in this HA/GR section, as well as from the main board, as I've previously posted alot of photo's of our cars here from Oz. I'm sure there's plenty to be found. Cheers, Drewfus
For excellent build pix go to the Aussie HA/GR web site at www.hot-rod.com.au/hamster/index.htm The site opens with an excellent picture of the original "bug". Just scroll down the page and click on the cars link The whole series of pics was also posted on the regular HAMB forum. Just about all the cars have similar frames except for Old 6 rodders and GMC Bubba's. Good luck, Ted
Heres a couple pics of ours built by Culbertson Customs in Indy. The cost of the steel delivered from a local supplier was less tha 300$.
