Thanks for sharing, there must be more cameras than one in Orlando so where are other guys with pics?

 

Don't look like I missed too much if that's all the racing that went on.

 

Our weather sucked so I didn't make the drive up. Maybe next year

 

Southcross2631 actually you did miss an awesome day. Incredible turnout for our first event. Caliber of race and show cars was incredible.

We gave Best of Show to Dennis O’Brien from Apopka. Took 6 years of painstaking work to build
He did not run because was not fully sorted
Attention to detail was incredible.
Trophy actually deserved a trophy

We had an awesome time at the Inaugural DragStrip Riot !! Great people, great cars, great racing, and the 'Surfari' music on the PA was a nice touch too !! Can't wait to do it again next year

Me too!!!
Open to any suggestions on how to make this one better
Working on doing a program to hand out at gate, with pertinent info and race schedule
Also possibly adding some cash prizes for top classes.
As usual there will be trophies and awards for both the race cars and show cars
Track management understands the need to help us streamline the event. Will be a win/win for everyone.
More work than I imagined, but we are all committed.

There are so many things that I like about this event >> Carshow / Display cars all lined up along the fence, the Mini Bikes w/ masks, all the Vintage cars, and of course the Beach Boys / Surfari music !! The only minor tweak I could suggest (based of response at other events) is to pit the Dragsters, Altereds, and Funny Cars together as a group, then when it gets close to run time, when we do the warm-ups in the pits, one guy fires off, a crowd gathers around the running car, when he is done & shuts off, another one fires up, and the group of spectators moves from car to car, until all are done, exciting as a driver, and cool for the fans to see each car up close & running, by doing them one at a time, each Team gets some exposure and the process lasts a little bit longer... 10 - 15 minutes worth !!
