Are you going to be running fenderless?

  5. Sounds like a good start, the mopar ch***is was good in 35, on the initial mock up I like to leave the starter exhaust generator all in place. can all be changed if needed but gives you a good picture of clearence problems. measure the two rear ends with the stock wheels in place. once again that can be altered with wheels and off set. or possible a different later rear end.
I like the car solid on jack stands with the front clip removed, to mock up the engine and trans dropped in as a unit. always cut as little as possible and figure on taking them in and out several time and make each obstruction go away then move to the next.
If that 35 has a ladder frame you can probably modify the Olds rear cross member. or buy one after market

Quite a project for a beginner. I admire your for***ude.
You'll get lots of help here, just keep throwing questions at us till we wear down. I dont know if going fenderless on that style of body will look right. But of co**** we dont really know what picture you have in your head.
    Good luck! PJ
