Hot Rods '#2 Coupe Top/Roof materials needed

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris Haynes, Mar 13, 2025.

  1. I bought the replacement wood for the roof on my '32 Coupe. Who sells the replacement material and padding?

Make you own. marine vinyl comes in various grains. Looks to be 1/4 inch foam. Not sure of the density though

My metal-man and I wheeled up a 2 mm ( 80 thou) aluminium filler panel which we sealed and screwed in the opening. The tack strips came from United Pacific and the rubber sealing strip from Macs. The trimmer did the rest and I think he used 1/2" foam as it does sit up a fraction high. Juliano's sell a kit to do the job but wouldn't ship to me in Australia but their set-up does sit up higher and looks "****y" so I'm glad I didn't end up with their kit. The vinyl that the trimmer used was a fairly fine grain, finer than he used for the interior.
Waldens were making steel filler panels for a lot of different models, not sure if he still is.
