I am building a '49-'53 Flatty and I am using an alternator mounted in the center where the generator normally is. Question is, what is the best 2 duece manifold and carbs to use with this setup?

There is an Offy in Speedway for about $200, and that is what I am planning to get, but the first carb is so far back, I am afraid it will hurt performance to the front cylinders. Good price for a new manifold tho.

    Any suggestions appreciated

Which Offy? There are two common Offy 2x2 - the Super Dual & Regular Dual - with the alternator, you should have room to run the Super Dual if you're concerned about the spacing of the front carb...for a driver, you probably won't be able to tell between the two...

I ran a regular edlebrock with 2 94's on my 3/8 x 3/8 it ran fine, but when I put three 97's on it that I got from Uncle Max man did that thing come to life. The 94's can be a little aggrivating because of the powervalves. Good Luck, Stafford

reds headers also has a few different intakes to choose from and the experience in flatheads too.

I have always run superduals on the street, and you can do so with an alternator if you want.
