i have a front axle that has the 2 inch axle boss. You hambers think this will be enough or is it just as strong as the 2 1/4 axle. Im running a y block and didn't know if it would affect the littler axle or not. any advice would be appreciated.

  2. Should be OK. If you use 2 1/4 wishbones you will need a spacer. I thnk Pete and Jakes has them.

2 inch axle is plenty strong. Will work fine.

I guess one way to "figure" on this is: How strong are your brakes, combined w/how large are your wheel/tire/brake components? (greater diameter-good, like a VW beetle, on the other hand, high weight = bad)
Maybe OK highway dept. will begin importing potholes from up North...and we're probably having a sale on 'em just now , or wheelstands (drag car behavior) can ask a lot from a cantilevered axle I-beam.
