2 piece flathead intake?

    i saw this on ebay and thought it was a really cool lookin flathead intake but was curious whats the point/benefit too a 2 piece design?, better flow?

    the only benefit i can think of at the moment is the ability to swap to 3x2 or 4x2 without taking the entire intake off. Kong had made a similar setup.

    i think the benefit is casting it without cores inside to deal with??

    This was my thought as well.

    Looks pretty cool. Amazing how many obscure speed parts there are out there.

    I'd agree...looks like a design based entirely on primitive knowledge and facilities for casting. It ends up being two primitive 4-cyl manifolds with no thought to the firing order and probably little thought to haow different manifold types can influence carb flow capacity needed. Fundamentally similar in concept to the manifolds used on V-8's of the 1920's, which gave V-8's a reputation for rough running that lasted til the 180 manifold came out on the '34 Ford...
