Hey all, got a question on re-sealing vintage 2 piece wheels. Ive got a set of old Radir wheels on my 59, and one of them is leaking from a spoke rivet. Can I just pull the tire and run some bead sealer over the rivet heads to seal it all up, or is there a better way to seal them up?

Yeah, I think a lot of us have done that. If everything nice and clean it should work.

Flex Seal. I had a friend seal up his leaky tru spokes with it. Hell, if you can make a boat out of it, you can seal a wheel.

    Excellent!
Ive always wondered just how well that stuff actually works. Got a few cans floating around that I may have to test out....

When I decided to take the 17 inch BMW type 5 wheels for my 528I apart and have the hoops polished and the centers powder coated I started trying to figure out how to seal the 3 piece wheels back up an the answer was Dowsil 832 that can be found at a far better price than From Amazon if you don't count Shipping. That flex seal has me thinking though. upload_2026-3-29_18-16-27.png
