I like it. Try these white rubber boots with it. Advertised for boat throttle cable.

  6. A piece of stainless exhaust tubing would work.
Weld a nut on the inside

This is my favorite type of homegrown tech.

Taking something totally different than it's intended use and modifying it to fit your intended use !!

    Great job Anthony!!

To play off of a famous person I've read here...

I'd shift it! Pretty cool idea for a unique shift knob.

  12. Anthony, I’m beginning to think y’all got too much free time on your hands.

I have a machine shop at home and it's amazing how many friends you inherit over the years because of that.

Nice work; kinda looks like the knob on a Hurst Syncro lock 3 speed shifter, but nicer

Anthony if I had a teacher like you in high school I might have amounted to something. Can an 80 year old enrolls in your shop class?

What’s a hockey puck ? Don’t think Walmart carries those around here . lol I saw a beer keg handle made out of a stack of poker chips once . I thought that it would be a good idea for a different looking shift knob . But then again I have a cow horn I need to put in something. Maybe the 31 A

  26. Anthony, that's slick , A little of the old a,a little of the new and you just made a cool vintage looking yoyo shiftier.

  27. I was too impatient to go to a friends shop or school to use a lathe.
This took about an hour. The cutting/grinding isn’ near as fast as a lathe.
But I didn’t measure squat. Just ground and sanded until it fit and looked ok.

We had some guys like that in the machine shop, called them "bit machinists", as in take off a little bit until it (kind of) fits.

  29. I usually build on the fly.
    It’s thought out
But…..one of the best builders on the planet told me “one modification usually leads to 10 more”
    Facts.
