    Welcome home to Texas.

Cheater slicks are mounted and I'm all ready for the Day of the Drags. Course, that all depends on if Johnny Law decides to throw the book at me.

    How do you get 2 tickets in 1 day? I'm a *****.

Anyone know a good traffic lawyer in the Austin area?

2 in the same day? That ****s. I got one two days in a row once, but never in the same day. Hope it all works out. If it helps at all, I lost my liscense for three months over that :]

I did it when I was eighteen. Ran a red light: stopped by the city cop. About fifteen minutes later: 75 in a 55 by the State Trooper.

"How long has it been since you got a ticket Son?"

Speeding. Both tickets. One for 77 in a 65 and the other 62 in a 45... VERY bad deal...

Remind me NOT to drive through Austin!!!!! Here you can show a reciept for getting your speedometer calibrated and at least get it reduced. Good luck ............

Can you get them amended to a non-moving violation in Texas? I know that I do it all the time for buddy's of mine here in the KC area. I used to work for a county attorney when I was in high school.

Were you driving the 38'? If you were, it may be tough with the "tags" that you have.

If you have different court dates for each of them, I'd check into a "prosecutors diversion" or "safe driver" program. Not every county has them (or even every state) but in Indiana, the deal is that you are eligible if you meet these three criteria.
    1. You didn't get a seat belt ticket with your speeding ticket
    2. You weren't going more than 25MPH over the limit
    3. You don't have any tickets in the last two years.
The deal is that you pay the same money, but no points go on your record. Supposedly if you get another ticket in the next 6-12 months (depending) on the county, you get the new ticket plus your old one comes back on your record. They don't check this very often though.
I've gotten all 13 of my tickets since 1992 to go away using this program or fighting it in court. I've done multiple tickets at the same time (with different court dates) to disappear with this too. They know you aren't a criminal. They are just trying to discourage the speeding and make a few bucks. It's a good deal for everyone.

Ugh. It sounds almost as bas as Washington state- which has to be the most ruthless state I've ever lived in for speed enforcement. Anyway, do yourself a favor and join the The National Motorists ***ociation They believe in reasonable speed limits set based on engineering and real data. They are the ones responsible for lifting the national 55MPH speed limite. There's a lot of resources on their site for fighting tickets.

Got 2 in one day driving from Melbourne to Adelaide to look at a 36 roadster a few years back. Expensive trip and I came back without the car too. Call it a weekend away with my Mrs. We had a nice dinner so I think it counts as a holiday.

I drive the speed limit in town, and 45-50 mph in the 55 zones out in the country, unless if there's a ricer about. Is there something wrong with me?

My ex got two within 12 minutes...... th same speed camera going too and from wherever she went !! drove fast and crazy all the time, piss poor powers of observation she had a bunch of camera fines in the years I was with her....... on the flip side she did get pulled up about 6 times in those years and never got written up, the joys of a healthy clevage, sweet smile and innocent act !!! *****, hell if I get pulled over I get written up but I haven't in the 10 or so years they have had cameras here ever got a fine, must be speening too much time looking at the road ahead !
    Good luck with yours Ryan.

You might need to move back home. Sounds to me like they have your number at the new address. Take them both to court for reduction to a lessor charge, perhaps deferred procecution if that's available in Texas, off your record in a year you know. Good luck young man, dug

That sux. The police are usually really cool around here. Do you still have out of state plates?

I don't know any traffic lawyers, but I'll ask around at work tomorrow.

Do you have TX plates yet?
I got pulled over all the time here in Houston for nothing when I still had KS plates. Changed to TX plates and have never been pulled over since (knock on wood).

  27. I've never had any problems in a state that ignores driving through the gr*** at 80 mph to exit a slow moving freeway while reloading their handguns...!!!!

What did you do to piss them off...???

Still have your Oklahoma plates on the car...??? If so..., that would be the main thing that'll screw you...!

Nawe, still have Missouri plates. In fact, the '38 has vintage missouri plates that I never bothered registering... And the cop never said a word.

Even worse? When all the guys were helping me unload my shop into a storage place not too far from where I was pulled over the last time, we stumbled across my Glock 45 in one of the boxes. I thought, "woah, better get that out of here just in case..." and put it under the seat of my '38 to take home. I forgot to take it out. What do you think I stumbled across while I looking for my insurance? Yep... Thank god the cop didn't see it...

WOW you dodged a huge bullet. Maybe even literally, they don't take to kindly of conceilled weapons when you aren't permitted. I saw you other thread on getting TX plates set up.

I just moved so everything is kinda boxed up but I know where to look. I have a play by play on how you register your old plates in Texas and under which criteria means what. I'll try to get it scanned tomorrow and emailed over.

EDIT: I'll also track down the card for the couple that is in Conroe, TX that specialize in vintage Texas Plates. So you can get the correct vintage restored plate.

You got a ticket in the '38? Times 2? And neither one liked the car and let you go? That's cold.
