JB, you bought your crew cab Mercury a few weeks ago. You joined the HAMB, and you came on here claiming that this is your first car, you don't have any experience with old cars, you don't have any money, and you don't even know how the hell to tell the ****ing difference between a Y-BLOCK and an FE!

You had better watch your tone around here, especially when you ASK FOR SOMEONE ELSES OPINION. Don't get your little canuck ******* wadded up when someone screws with you a little bit. Lighten up, it's the internet.

Personally I could care less about you or your car, but you don't have to insult people who are just messing with you. You came on here asking for opinions, someone gave you a little ribbing for being a newbie, and you got offended and started talking ****.

You can really do one of two things... Grow a sack and be respectful, or pack your **** and kick rocks.

I reckon a creamy white. Or, take a few hours longer and paint the whole car. If the bottom isn't perfect, it's gonna look like a half done job.

  5. whoa there- you need 2 back it up there AAFD. The guy came on cause he wanted to ask a questian. Not cause he wanted to be some bored old HAMBer's hacky sack. I'm sure u all done it all and r gods gift to wheels- but some of us aint and just tryin to share an interest. From reading ALOT of these threads on this site it seems theres a select few who r so full of themselve they got nuttin better to do then try and stir some stuff. Those ole HAMBer's r the ones that need to grow a sack. try a mans sack and act like men. If you want some respect then show some respect. If u dont wanna help then read the post-keep yer fingers off the key board- and move on. And YOU can be the first one to start by offering up an apology- your post added nothing remotely constructive to the discussion

Anyways I'm cutting off this drama thread. Thanks for the opinions from those who are humble and take this site seriously. For the grumps with rose scented **** dont worry I'm sure I'll be back with another "newbie" thread for you to take your frustrations out on.

I do apologize to 'unklian' tho, maybe I took that too seriously.

And btw I decided to go with a close but darker than factory blue all the way around, satin texture on the majority of the body, gloss on the roof.

  8. I think you're right about my B-Day. So I owe you an appology for missing yours.

The drinking wasn't hurting my gray matter at all. I was born with too much anyway. I quit because it made my nose hurt.

Silly thread. Nice car, but neither a traditional hot rod or custom. No sense of humor, no respect for experience.. I voted for white before I read all these posts. Can't see how you'll be long term happy with new paint on the top half and old paint on the bottom. Your car, though.

  11. well JB- thanks for the post anyhow. i learned somethings. like a 62 can look smokin hot if you got the vision. and that these old schoolers got thier noses so high in the air most of em see nuttin but sky. So let me be the first to apologize for your introduction to the site= theres some serious helpful ppl on it and alota good advise----- and then alota frat boy, my ****s better, how dare you not grovel-== screw em

  12. Actually I'm been seeing lots of clouds this year. Makes me feel like I'm in Seattle, and I normally flush my ****. Anyone that wouldn't flush has some serious problems.

Oh and most of us have very little respect for groveling, or people who don't know how to use spell check.

  13. case in point-(spelled good enough for ya?)

Properly, you do not use the hypen in this situation. And, you should have used "well" not "good". If you are going to be critical you should check to make sure you are correct. What is good for the goose... Right?

  15. dat was the irony of it- spose if someones gonna be jockular at anothers expense they should b able to pick up on it on the flip side-- but i get yers 5 window touche (this entire post was don without reliance on no spell check) oh, by the way- bad bobs got a thread out askin for paint advice. maybe some wanna let him know its a silly thread

moonlitrn, talk about respect for something, read the 1st sentence of your own post ,downing this site, hell you are just an FNG yourself so where do you get off being such a damn expert and wise ***,Clean your own house before you come into somebody elses with your **** and I don"t give a damn how you take it.

  17. aint nobody downing the site. sites great, lotsa good info and ppl once you get past the ***es.. maybe a FNG to the site- but not to life.. wasnt me disrespecting the guy or his thread. That was the oldschoolers all in the guise of a joke- well if u dont know the guy, best not to joke with him till u do. some might not take it as funny. and if yer gonna insist on jokeing at someone elses expense, dont get your nose outa joint if it comes back at ya-- and since i dont give a damn about you, i wont give a damn how you take it

  18. think about this... I briefly read what i thought was your explanation on your color choices.. U want what ur posting because of ur door jams? So you dont want to paint the color say green ? And have the door jams stand out like sore thumb because of the color clash.. But honestly some fresh nice paint is gonna clash and make your door jams look even more ****ty all old dirty and so on .. Who is going to paint this car? its not much more work to take on some door jams and makes the end result so much more satisfying. Also helps with the value.. Some one with some sense looking at a car there thinking of buying looks it overs and wonders " why in the hell didnt they do the jams to?" Then they second guess it and think it was either half***es and what else was? Or its a quick fix and there trying to hide something half*** work again..

In all do it right the first time. Pick whatever color u want and paint your damn jams..

Id paint it a candy or a lime green door jams to.

    This is so lame.....

Even tho this is just the internet, Moonlitrn seems like hes one of the few showing REAL respect, he might be an FNG and so may I, he probably has more experience in old cars than me.... I'll admit I have little to none... but is this a site to learn about them or what? I'm 22 years old and all my hard earned cash is in this car, I love it and it's my baby... I think I deserve some respect. I'm sure if I saw any of you at some car show and asked this same question about paint or any 'inexperienced' question I'd get decent response.... But if I got some smart *** response I'd tell you to **** off just like I will tell you on here.

So everyone toss there tissues and lets move on. help and be helped. respect and be respected.

I don't know you sound pretty tough behind your keyboard. Would you change your at***ude say, maybe in a parking lot somewhere? But yeah blue and white are nice.

Ahhh. No, I see you would rather tell someone to **** off rather than take it as good natured ribbing and actually listen and learn. Great plan.

I like the one on the right. It would look good with the GM white diamond tricoat paint on the top not cheap stuff but it would really set it off

Dude that was way out of line. Members of the HAMB are damn near family. There's no need to get pissey just because someone cracks a joke on you. Build a bridge and get over it.
