Well, I have been going to our local Menard's home improvement store at lunch every day and buying about $50 worth of chrome fasteners for over a week or so. I think I have spent well over 500 bucks so far. It is probably best that I don't think about how much I have in this damn thing so far.

My buddy Davey Shuten came down last friday from Michigan and brought me some chrome and striped the frame and lettered the valve covers while he was down.

  11. damn that thing is fuckin hotttttttttt... Don't you guys have a bolt store there? like a fastenal or something like that? They can get all that shit in bulk alot cheaper than the hardware stores usually.

I was pretty disappointed that a I found a shop by my house that advertised "stripper" but it turns out the guy is just a striper that can't spell. I don't see spending nearly as much money there now. I'm not kidding.

Anyway, your car looks great. I think you should put a Manx body on it and go. Great dune buggy material there.

Detroit Autorama will be the "Unveiling" so to speak.

Yeah we have a Fastenal, but when you only need a few bolts the same size you don't want to buy a whole pack of them. I have purchased some of my stainless ones there and some of the common stuff like packs of washers and locks and nuts and things. I spend 50 bucks every time I go in there too. ha ha ha

As for the pipes, I tacked them together and had a buddy tig them up for me. Then I had another buddy polish them up and then had them chromed.

  20. DUDE - that motor looks killer. I order all my misc bolts and shit from mcmaster carr - that adds up too. But at least I don't have to drive and get there and they don't have the thread or length I need.

have you fired it up yet? Did I miss that?

I thought about coming down if I get the car running alright. I don't think it will be fired up yet before Detroit though. On the other hand, I am BROKE. I am going to be paying on this car for quite some time. ha ha ha

Mr. Paras, I have noticed your absence. Are you going to bring your chowder eating ass to Detroit or what???

Doc, the punk would look good in your garage and/or living room. Ha Ha Ha

    Hey Aaron,

The car's lookin' great. Wish Jesse and I had time to roll by and check it out in person. It's just been too busy of a winter so far. Guess we'll have to wait until the Autorama. The Atomic Punk is first on our list of things to check out when we get there.

    See you there.

Aaron, looks kick ass. The headers are super sweet. I love how graceful the headers can sweep on a hemi. since the port points toward the ground. You must be working too hard to drink any beer. I dont see even one can on the ground. ha, ha

Might Aaron be paying off the fastener bill, via the Riddler Award?

    Looks fabulous there Bud!

You are gonna drive 6 hours to see a car that is only 20 miles away from your house? Ha Ha Ha

Mr. Fox, I decided to clean up a bit in order to improve my "Image". If you look there is what appears to be a garbage can in the pics. That is actually my recylling can and it is overflowing. Ha Ha Ha I am supposed to get the body tomorrow. Stop by for the Thursday shenanigans at Creative Customs.

My award is going to be getting this thing to Detroit so I can drink beer with my friends.
