I could really go for a "happy ending" right now. I had to go to the emergency room last night, so my "Date Hand" is gonna be out of commission for a while.

I was using the BIG grinder on the chassis when it caught on something and the sanding disc exploded. One of the chunks must have bounced off of the frame rail and back into my hand. I looked down and saw my leather glove had a tear in it. I thought to myself "damn, that could have hurt". About a minute later the pain kicked in and I took off the glove and found a matching hole in the top of my hand.

I could lie and tell you I did my best Patrick Swayze from "Road House" with his "pain don't hurt" line. The fact of the matter is that I really hate gore, especially my own. I shut the garage down and walked oveer to the house. I put my hand under some cold water and when I did that it felt like someone put a knife clear through my hand. I made the mistake of looking down at it at the same time and saw my tendons inside there like Luke Skywalker playing with his new hand in the Empire Strikes back. I promptly passed out and woke up to my 3 dogs licking my face, somehow I don't think that is what I was dreaming about while I was out. Ha Ha Ha

When the Ol Lady got home she brought me to the ER (35 miles away) and they stitched me up and gave me a tetnus shot since no one was really sure when the last time I had one was, or the last time I had actually seen a doctor for that matter.

The wife told the doctor to tell me to stay out of the garage for a while. He saw the look on my face and knew that wasn't gonna happen. He smiled and said "just keep it clean if you are doing anything dirty".

I got the radiator in there when I got home, as I was clearancing the front spring perch for the electric fan when the whole ordeal started. I really didn't want to have to put the electric fan where it would be visible.

Jesus man... Glad to hear you are joking about it.

In fact, this has to be the funniest "i got a boo boo" story I have read in a while.

I think the doctors quote should be on t-shirts: He smiled and said "just keep it clean if you are doing anything dirty".

Damn, you're like that corn combine guy who gouged off his own arm with a tire tool so he wouldn't burn to death. The demons of the neither world have acknowledged your anointment of blood and tendon, thus pledging their eternal loyalty and assistance in making your car worth much value on the Ebay.

I'm sorry! I can't stop writing goofy shit! Sorry sorry SORRY!

"What are you apologizing for Tim???"

    Wh..??? Who is that?

"You owe it to the universe to express yourself."

Yeah, the worst part for me was always thinking about the time you're losing.LOL!
I cut my finger off, and just had to get back to work on the project the next day. The worst part is that all that hospital wrapping gets in your way.
I keep telling myself " I'm a better man with nine fingers than most guys are with ten"
Its a good thing I didnt cut off my dick. I dont know what I could say then.
    Heal quickly buddy!

Earl Scheib, it is not the girth it is the depth. Ha Ha Ha

It was only 4 but the old lady said it should have been 5, stitches that is, not inches. Ha Ha Ha

Chaz, I feel pretty lucky it wasn't my pee pee, not that I get to use it much. Ha Ha Ha

Oh fuck. I didn't even think of that as a possibility. That could have actually happened, the way it sounds.

Good thing it was your hand, instead!

Ouch. Grinder boo-boo's are the WORST.
A few years back, I was grinding the concrete in my house (don't ask, I have repressed it) and just touched the extension cord with the grinder, overreacted and pulled it back thinking I was gonna end up weed-whacked to death with a large grinder attached to the "bidness end" of the cord. nope. but I did manage to "just graze" my thigh with the disc. I looked down (no pain) and thought "whew! I can just see my underwear through my jeans" and kept grinding...then I realized I was wearing Dark blue undies that day, so I looked again, this time actually pulling down my pants. Did you know fatty tissue is yellow, but the stuff under that is bright white? me neither. didn't hurt till I looked at it again. Didn't bleed until I looked at it for a while, then the floodgates opened up. Crap. no stitches for me though- it was too wide and shallow, and with my sprinter like physique (not.) They told me I would tear the stitches out the first time I sat down. (peachy) so I got to bleed alot and invest in some really big band-aids.
Personally, I tell everyone I got the scar in a knife fight with a stripper in Tijuana. Its a beleivable story. feel free to pirate it.:D

Well, I got the got the frame all in primer over the weekend. By "I" I am referring to my secret weapon, Russ "the Cisco Kid" Weber and his son Jeremy. You may know him better as the guy that built that crazy Studebaker Coupester. I hate sanding Bondo so I like to pass the buck off to Russ. Ha Ha Ha

I have been hitting the body with metal prep and welding in pinholes in the seams that I have missed. Hopefully with enough Bud Light I can get Russ to come over this weekend and get the body started.

  24. apparently the need for pain meds was superceded by the wifes explanation to the ER doc ...
"ummm errr he was fixing the mount for the coolant recovery system on his bubbletop jetson like car when the high speed tool with saftey gaurd removed unexpectantly exploded ...when he came to ....the dogs had licked the wounds clean and drank his spilled nearly full 6th beer"

NO PAIN MEDS FOR YOU !..(best food nazi voice)

Its actually a common injury in the chemical industry, from blokes in overalls leaning up against acid-moistened edges of 44 gallon drums:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
