Mazooma: As one who knows the effort involved to post a single large-sized image on a HAMB thread, please let me say thank you for an awesomely great job. I was there on Saturday and thought I saw it all but obviously you saw much more than I did. Bummer about your back. Hope you're better than ever next year.

Thanks for posting these wonderful pics Doug. I couldn't make it this year, Mom's in the hospital. Your pics are the next best thing to being there.

You mean you've been shooting film previously and scanning??

Thanks for the time and effort Doug. I knew I shoulda went.

Love the Ranchero and S & H. The Chizler clone fails to capture the badness, grit and stance of the original, which was my favorite car of that era.

Tom.....you raise a good point. Some of these cars are like jewelry....and, don't get me wrong, I love them all and really appreciate folks having them cloned ($$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!), but, damn, I remember sitting on the ground in the pits at Lions when I was about 12, and after a ****py qualifying run with motor problems, these teams would come into the pits and just start almost tossing the body panels onto the asphalt so they could get to work.
At the end of the evening, these cars went home filthy and beat....and there was something beautiful about them.
Today, it's like looking at a prize-fighter without a drop of sweat or one little cut on their lip, yet accepting the applause from the crowd after winning the fight and claiming the belt......

oddly, too....I remember the "Chizler" as being more of a silver, but I'm sure the color must be correct after that kind of money spent.

  26. Cool! Famous local girls car here. Thanks.

Thanks Doug. I'll bet that Willie's urn wiggled with a giggle when Mike did the multi lane burn out Saturday evening.
