Has anyone else heard that Ford has been secretly working on an updated version of the Model T? (You know, bringing it up to date, kinda like what they did to the Shelby Cobra).

I got this info today, from a reliable co-worker, who was recently employed as a contractor at Ford headquarters.

I wonder if it will still be offered in"...any color you want, as long as it's black." [IMG]

Hmmmmm, that's interesting. My girlfriend works for Edmunds.com, so she usually gets the lowdown on all those concepts. Haven't heard her mention anything like that, though. I'll have to hit her up.

Man, Ford sure is reachin' with these "retro rods". Thunderbird, the Cobra, Forty-Nine. I actually liked the Forty-Nine......

That information is pretty old--its about 4 1914 reproduced Model Ts You can search the archives on the Model T forums

Manylowcars, I searched the Model T sites before posting this but couldn't find anything.

    Could you post a link?

Thanks for the link, but I'm not sure this is the same thing. The person who told me about this used the words "Sleek and Modern" as well as "front airbag."

They were going to make 100 new Model Ts for their 100 Anniversary, exact reproductions of the originals.

After they poured alot of money into it,the project had to be cancelled.
Because these are actually new cars, they are covered under all the Federal requirements
for crash safety and emissions. [IMG]
