I agree they deserve credit. Just have to expect that people might get a little grumpy about it if you give them credit on here instead of Metalshapers or a BMW forum. Not dissagreeing with you, just saying...
i think the car looks *****n. It has a real old euro race car feel. the metal work is amazing. ive driven M3's before and they are amazing. I consider myself a diehard traditionalist, but you have to appreciate the skill and time it took to make that thing. its different. not exactley for this forum, but kool anyways. and you need thes big daytons or it wouldnt look right, or handle right for that matter. just my .02 cents. David
I think it's beautiful. That metalwork is nothing less than superb. I'm impressed, it's better than anything I could ever even dream of building. It's got style, I love it.
I'm with you Nads. If I had the cash, I'd take a new car and make a one off machine based on the superb BMW engineering too. Isn't that what custom car guys were doing way back when? Sam Barris took delivery of his new Merc, and proceeded to make something different out of it... It's a one off custom based on a new platform. And, it is done very nicely. My hats off to those fellas.
Also the front fenders are plastic from the factory and they are very flexable plastic..these guys while they struck out on the design they did a crazy body job..i dont want to burst you guys bubble but that isnt a m6 its a 645 which still has 360hp but it still moves and sound good...ps new m6's screw for a stock car 12.3 in the 1/4 at like 125
I'd drive it, and yes it does look like a giant MGB. I always wanted an MGB with the 215 Buick/Rover conversion anyway. I wish I could do that stuff, but alas, all thumbs.
They took a beautiful car and made a freakin' Kaiser out of it!! Now we sit here and waste time reading each others' posts, and *****in' about why it's even on here in the first place. It must be a slow day for interesting posts. Let's move on.
C'mon guys, let's get a good ******* contest going! My wife ain't letting me watch oprah tonite; I'm having drama withdrawls. One day I was *****ing about the second (and last! Thank GOD!!!) BMW I was working on, when my boss asked me, "why do you think we call 'em 'B M Troubleyous'?" And this was coming from a guy who's daily ride was an S600 Benz. I'd own one, if I ever had the 'gold chainer' income. But I'd never work on one again. Hard enough to get me to work on my '54 Chrysler... But WTF, let's get this thread closed! -bill
Is there a point to that last one?? You know a M3 GTR, DTM car doesn't even share body parts with the road version. Its kinda like likening a NASCAR Taurus to the street car.
