2006 H.A.M.B Hot Rod & Kustom of the year?

I have to go with Rolfs car. I LOVE everything about it.

Littlemans is really cool, but if we are talking about traditional cars I don't know. Have you ever seen anything like that in the little pages. PLEASE don't get me wrong it's wild, but is it a TRADITIONAL ride???????

well.. I'm not doing this because he is a friend, but because the car just "feels" right... that designer's eye is twinkling right back at you... in a creation that harkens from many corners of the past, but you can't put a finger on any just one... so many influences bottled up in a steel and alluminum skined beauty...

Suhrsc, or Zach, has built a roadster that I feel embodies a portion of what this board's mission is all about... building a car in these 'modern' times in a quest to recall a time when hotrodders strove to innovate, hand fabricating and garage engineering cars that make us drool at the mouth today....

I nominate his latest aluminum nosed creation for "Essence of the Hamb"...Hotrod division...

 

im a little bias but i vote for tucks 34. for a hot rod. But i do love rolfs coupe and bass's coupe has it all hands down and its louder then any thing else on earth even spinal taps amps that go to 11.

Custom wise i dunno. i havnt been paying much attention to whats been going on. But for simple and very well exicuted i vote for detroitbuilt50. his shoebox coupe is So tastfully done its sick. i cant get enough of it.

I am a little biased, but for hotrod, any of these would be worthy. Not the fastest hotrods, but cool and home built . They all have flatheads and are driven, sometimes hard.

the duece is hiboy32
the A coupe is Nosurf
the 34 is the nearly famous Tuck


As for the custom, well does the colorized pics from the early fifties that rickster did count? Well , ok then , coles 36.

 

I am humbled to be in such company...

I agree with Denise, too many nice cars to choose from.

I tend to favor owner built cars, innovation and out of the box thinking (lunar lander for example) ...to me that is more important than perfect finish.

Hmm.....hard for me to choose between Tuck and Rolf, both so different yet equally cool. Cole gets my vote as far as Kustoms go.

My '48 Willys truck project. It has set the world on fire with "Jeep" mania. People are photoshopping cut down flatfender hot rods.....guys are dreaming about them like kids dreaming about boobies.

I still dream about boobies.

But that's beside the point......
