I'm getting ready to order the tags for 2007. Just to clarify, Alliance memberships are good for one year and when you renew (one year after buying your 2006 membership), you will get a 2007 tag.

The question is, what should these tags look like? Originally, I was going to make the 2006 tags be a little special and follow up with a standard design in 2007 that would stick around forever. However, I'm starting to think that maybe the 2006 design should just stay around forever and only changing the dates...

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

You've got a good design. Don't make it hard on yourself.

Yeah, I was going to alternate between black and red... but what if ya got a car that clashes with red? I'm staying with black for sure...

You know these are going to be collector items going for hundreds of dollars in 2050. I see no need to change them. I like them as they are and your just making work for yourself. I hang mine with pride.. I wonder how many of these tags are displayed anyway.

You could use the old original colors, black, red, and green. I like the current design but I also know how talented ya'll are so lets see some proposed designs.:)

Edit: you have to consider that most organizations don't change their logo design every year to include the current year, look at Ford as an example. Maybe you could have the original design and just add a year emblem underneath. Kind of like the military stripe you see on uniforms. This way the owner just adds a stripe, with the current year, when the renewal is made each year. This would help keep the costs down too. Besides, I don't think that anyone wants to remove the old ones and replace them with a new one every year, do you? Imagine your nice clean firewall, or other location on the car like the dash, and having to r/r the tag every year. That doesn't make sense besides it damages the mounting surface. Any other bright ideas?

it never occurred to me i would be putting on a new one every year. i guess i will leave the one i have on the dash and hang the new ones from my rear view mirror, as soon i get a rear view. different colors would be cool.

Quit acting like my wife moving the furniture around.

The 2006 tag is "timeless", go with it as you have better things to do.

leave them alone. just change the dates. They look really good already.

Only comment I have is for Ryan not to drink when he's stamping them. My name is a little cockeyed... haha well gives it character anyways!

russetta timing tags were red made from aluminum
i think alternating to red would work
if it clashes with your color...it just stands out more
i dont see this as an incorperated part of the car as much as a stand alone "sign" so anything would work

HAHAHA... you have a long name... that shit is HARD with long names... Ever seen an original timing tag? I'm a much better stamper than any of those fuckers in the 40's and 50's!

Hey Ryan I have to be a pain in the nuts but I really don't want 'graverobber63' on my car. Whats the chances I could get my real name on my new one?

What if you have an add-on plate that couls be simply added below an exsisting 2006 tag? I know that back in the day, drag racers used to 'stack' their particpant stickers in a way that would show every year they ran in their class.

I know this might cost more to have a second tag, one full size for each new membership and the add-on tag, but it would be cool to be able to show a certain loyalty by being able to stack the year tags beneeth the main tag.

    Kinda like this...

    Sorry, just thinking outloud...

Yeah I know. I haven't even bought my first one yet and I'm already thinking about the next one. I know. I'm pathetic.

  18. How about making yearly rockers for those who re-up, no stamping involved, and us charter members would have the 2006 forever.

I liked the idea of the original tag with small square ones to hang below for subsequent years. Forgive me for photochopping this up... but I like the way it looks.

*EDIT* kinda like Vance did 2 minutes before me...

You are making the rod for your own back with too much artistic thought though the pic. Vance showed with the date change looks cool.

Just looking at my tag hanging on the wall. The tag looks like you could hang additional square tags below this one. Ones that just say HAMB Alliance Member 2007. No name stamping or new 6 sided logo. Then the tag could grow with each year, and this first tag would be special. You would also have a simpler design and no name stamping. Easier work for you. Something special for us first year HAMBers.

How about smaller? I think they would be cooler if the tag was more the size of an original tag. It would fit dashes better as well. I agree with color change also......my 2 cents, Lucky

I've hesitated to join, but now that I see 35's and Vance's idea - I really like it! That's the way it should be!

You gotta hand it to Ryan & the boys... alot of fuckin work goes into keeping this board running. Having a real job and operating all these sites and all these 'extras' must be a nightmare.

Thanks for all your hard work guys!

haha! I guess I'm a slow photo-chopper... heh.. Looks like we're thinking along the same lines...

My thought was to include the HAMB name though for the people who are first time signer-uppers (IT"S A WORD! LOOK IT UP!) They would want the HAMB logo on their car if they were forkin' over the $50 bucks.
