2008 Dragway 42 Rock & Race info..

This years dates for the Dragway 42 Rock & Race will be July 18th, 19th & 20th. Last years show was the biggest yet with almost 4000 people attending, 400 cars for the car show and over 200 race cars. This year is going to be even better. Drag racing, car show, trophy building contest, Miss Rock & Race pin-up girl contest, at least a dozen bands, pinstripers, burlesque, great vendors, burnout contest, free camping and more!

Yeah, the burnout contest was unreal! I lost count on how many folks went till their tires popped. A HUGE crowd pleaser!

Crap...that's the same weekend as Canfield. Well I guess it's better to have choices than nothing at all. I was hoping on camping Friday and saturday night this year. Maybe Canfield early in the AM Saturday and then head over to your shindig for Saturday night camping.

I had a blast last year, definitely a must do show/swap/race event

Yes I'll be in Detroit to officially start the Rock & Race hype. I'll have a big stack of flyers & a t-shirt for you.

 

Don't worry about Canfield. You can hit Canfield on Friday morning/afternoon and still make it out to The Rock & Race for some racing & Friday nights bands. Camp out on Friday & Saturday. Let your liver rest on Sunday, check out the racing, pin-up girl contest & then go home.

 

GREAT bring a stack to the HAMB Mingle on that Saturday night.

I don't think I'll have the flyers ready by the 14th. I WILL have them ready for Detroit..

This is by far the best event Ohio has to offer, I hope you have enough shirts this year. That artwork looks awesome. At the rate this show is growing, 42 will have to go back to 4 lanes!

I'll deffently pass out a whole mess of flyers again. When's the choppers show? Thats where I met you last year. that was a pretty good little indoor show to get me back in the mood to work on my truck. This year me and my buddy WILL be at the "afterparty" at the strip club.

 

The choppers show is Apr. 11- 13. C ya there.

Thanks guys. The shirts were designed by Michael Shoaf "slide" on the HAMB. He really did a great job. I've got the shirts ordered. I'm going to have 2 colors this year black and navy blue. The design looks great on both colors. I'm also getting ladies shirts made this year in a ladies fitted baby doll style shirt in black. The shirts will be here on March 1st. I'm going to start taking pre orders for delivery to the Detroit Autorama soon so keep your eyes open in the classified if you want to be one of the first to get a shirt.
The plans for this years show are moving along. We have GREAT bands lined up for this years show. I don't think there is a weak spot in the band line up. These are all must see bands. Daikaiju, Coffin Daggers, Twistin Tarantulas, Hot Rod Hucksters, Skinny Jim and The Number Nine Blacktops, Lords Of The Highway, Ace Brown just to name a few. We are going to have at least 10 bands this year. I'll have the official announcement of all the bands and activities the first week of March.
This year is going to be awesome!

We have nitro burning front engine dragsters confirmed for this years show!!

 

A friend of mine is a DJ on WSTB (50s & 60s Oldies) in Streetsboro, OH.
That's about 40 miles away from the Canfield/Salem area. They are a very
small station but the audience is car crazy! I'll contact him and see if he can mention it on the show around that time.
