I hope the trophy costed at least ten grand and wasn't made of plastic. that might make it worth the trouble......not.

  3. The show world is full of politics....and yeah it's a BIG money guys tryin to impress their buddies.I understand the AMBR should be about the state of the art car however when all style and flow are gone from the car I believe the bullseye has been missed bigtime.Maybe we should be more concerned about the peoples choice award or maybe Ryan has the right idea going on.......however I dont see any likeness to the NHRA if ya win ya win ISCA and The former Oakland roadstershow awards are chosen by men who should know what to look at.....my question what were the other choices given to the judges??

The award is called "America's most BEAUTIFUL roadster". Not America's best engineered roadster, or America's shiniest roadster".

So beauty is what's been judged, and for that you need judges who understand cars. William Ford and Wayne Cherry spring to mind.

They know exactly what to look for--that's how "points" are tallied. You have a beautiful yet basic '32 roadster, you don't get the points (in both manners). You take an old front-engined dragster to Pomona, it may run, but it ain't gonna run with the big guns. That's how I was comparing apples to oranges.

  8. point taken,I see your point.......and both are full of politics to,along with a HUGE checkbook!

What it is all about is being with friends and seeing all your rides together and they helped you on yours one way or another and just cruising down the blvd and enjoying what you have and no one can take that away from you. KNUX!

  10. Yes, there's a bunch on another thread I started just on her car. GNRS Tiffany (Mrs. Dan) Collins, or something like that. Hell, her car's my new screensaver

Does anyone know how to reach the Collins Crew to find out more about that Roadster?

If anyone wants a high res copy of the pic above, let me know. They're FOC for my HAMB brothers...

  14. Sickening. I try not to slam anybody's stuff, but that thing is hideous and whoever the judge/judges are, it just tells me they're fucking idiots, or best friends with the builder, or were paid off.
