Oh sure you mention food and everyone wants to go.

    Here is how it looks;
Meeting at Golden Coral at 8:30
we figure an hour to eat so leave about 9:30-10:00
Roughly an hour drive to Hoppersteads so about 10:30 - 11:00
Then about an hour to Zettle Bros so about 12:00 to 12:30.

Obviously we will have the fudge factor for stops, gas, beer, breakdowns, etc.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Count me in! The Pile Up was too hot last year. I was waiting to see how the weather was looking, but Sunday should be a nice day for a cruise. I'm about an hour SE of Elgin and the full tour should be a cool adventure!

I talked to Hopperstead yesterday and he's gonna have some food and drinks layed out for us when we get there.......

The bad part is gonna be the hang over from the Afterdarks show!

  5. Aw shucks....

Just be ready they will be Steelers/Cardinals colors. I am making cupcakes for McNamara's for the game, so I will be making them all at once.

Depending on how hungover we are we might just head to the Zettles but we will see.

I'd like to thank the Bare Bones club for setting up this cruz, and Hopperstad's crew for the good food and opening up the shop for us all, and to the Zettle's for the nice time at your shop.It was sure nice seeing everyone after a long 2-3 months of*****py winter weather. It was nice to get out and about.

I was talking with some of the guys at the Polar Bear Run today and they mentioned something about a good surf style band that played with the Hucksters Sat. nite in Rockford. Would this be the Afterdarks?,... If so, how can I get ahold of them?,...we mite be interested in getting them to play at our "Scrap Drive" show in June.
    Thanks

  9. . Hey Ya'all, this was a good time, n' a great way to break up the winter. I couldn't make the last stop due to work commitments but I shure am glad that I made it out..After seeing last years coverage I didn't wan't to miss it. Besides, It was a great reason to remove 3' of snow from a car that hadn't been driven in 3 months. Thanks for all the hospitality, especially at Hoppersteads'.

These 2 guys have a real nice "hot rod bathroom":) I wish I could have stayed longer but I had a real bad hang over and the bed was calling me back. DW thanks for the great***** hug and the cupcakes you out done your self.

Hopper had aton of people show up that was a good time. I got to talk to alot of people that I havent in along time.

BareBones cc Thank you guys for putting this together cant wait till next year!

Guess my buddy and I pissed the video guy off we were driving to fast. We just like to stretch our legs out and air the cars out.

  12. Rusty - the band you are looking for is the One Night Standards from Iowa. I am sure they have a myspace page. The Afterdarks also played that night but they are not surf.

Thanks to the Bare Bones for putting this together. We only made it to the Zettles but it was nice to be able to catch up with those guys. We left probably 20 minutes after the rest of the cruise showed up b/c I had to make it back for the Super Bowl.

But there were a lot more folks than I thought! Great turnout.

Saturday night was fun too - One Night Standards, the Hucksters, the Afterdarks... plus a heavy dose of Blacktop Barons, Chrome Czars, LouverDude, TudorJeff, Gerg plus lots of other car folks.

Overall it was a fun weekend out in Rockford!

hey - you did not upset me - I just try to get everyone in the shots........since you were driving so fast you wont be in as many of the scenes.......

No big deal - usually people want to see their cars rolling down the road.....
cant film you if you are going 85 MPH!!!

We want to thank everyone that came out. It was definatley the biggest one to date and we really made everyone earn their patches it was an hour drive to each location.

Hopperstead was more than acccomodating and has an amazing shop and had more than enough food. The Zettle Bros. were also very gracious and we all had a blast.

One of the highlights had to be the Zettles goat make big smoky burnout passes in front of the shop which is right next door to village hall.

    Thanks again.

It was very cool that you was taping everyone. Around here we build our cars to drive the piss out of them and thats what we do. WOW 85 mph really didnt think the old truck would go that fast :D......

When are you gonna put this footage on disc and whats gonna be the name?

We just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone that made it out to the shop. Thanks DW for making cupcakes, they were awesome. We were overwhelmed with such a great turnout. We went through 56 hotdogs in no time flat. We still had some beer, which is the most important!!! Once again guys and gals thanks!!

You can't edit out the*****'s that Cleen was dropping because then you take away his personality. Thats why we love him.
