    Hello everyone,

The Shifters would like to thank EVERYONE who attended our 12th annual VLV car show last weekend.

My wife and i just got back this afternoon and i couldn't wait to get on here , thank everyone, acknowledge everyone, talk about the weekend, and post a million pictures for all to see.
This was by far, the best VLV ever . The quality of the cars are improving drastically ! This has made SO many people return and we're happy about it. The controlled environment ,the presence of 24 hr. security and off duty LVPD, Live bands & DJ's, 70 vendors, the giant TIKI,car club participation from all over the U.S. & Canada - made it fun and unique.

Special thanks: Emperors car club, Road Rockets,Lonely Knights from Colorado (who caravanned 16 cars ! ) , Alex Gambino, John Parker, Notch, Black Jacks,Throttlers,Cavaliers , Lords, Throttle kings, Los Reyes, Gonners, Autoholics,.......I could go on and on.

Also, a big thanks to the Husters drag racing team for bringing out their front engine Hemi powered top fuel dragster.

Another gigantic thanks to my buddy Vic Young , Ted Ranomous ,Solo Speed shop, and the rest of the guys who brought out their Willys Gassers !

And the last thanks goes to TUCK. Your artwork was amazing and we sold out of the T-Shirts !
The weather held up on Saturday ~ Thanks God !

The Hamb meet & Greet was fun. Met some nice people , even though i didn't get to stay long.

Winners: Dave Crouse with his beautiful original paint 32 Roadster - won best Hot Rod.

Mr. Bebeau with his Polynesian #2 won best Custom.

Guy with the chopped green 53 Buick won furthest driven - drove 3,000 miles from Ontario Canada !

second place furthest driven - were the 2 Hamb members from Chicago - 58 Ford truck and a 51 Chevy. 2,458 miles.

Third place furthest driven - The Road Rockets - Dustin & Mike drove out in their Roadster Pick Up and chopped 53 Desoto. - 2,000 miles

Again, we're proud to say that the show is back to where it once was, minor problems are a thing of the past, and we look forward to future shows in Sin City.

Enjoy all of my pictures, Axle

This belongs to Squeak Bell and he is driving it to the Lone Star Round Up. It was originally built in the early 1960's but Squeak blew it apart and redid a lot of things like paint, engine, some interior, chrome, etc. Powered by an Olds, rare adapter mated to a 60's four speed, and an early Olds rear. Look out for Squeak, Alex Gambino, and John "Primer Nationals" Parker in Austin.

It was my first year for Viva and I will be back next year thats for sure. You guys did an amazing job putting on the show and the whole event. It was a blast!!! I thought that you had a good variety of cars and lots to check out at the car show. Just have more cars even next year. My hat is off to all who put on Viva.

My brother Marky wins the "Kick ass of the month" award ! He and my autobody shop teacher from high school redid the body work, paint, and chrome on these two 60 El Camino's in the past 3 weeks. The candy gold & tangerine 60 belongs to Marky. The Candy pink and silver 60 belongs to his girl friend !

Squeak's Ford came from Tennessee , old man in his eighties used for a moonshine hauler. It had a barn door hasp on the trunk lid with the lock still on.

Bernie Sievers bought it and left it with me for a year, got it running, it had a 61 starfire 394 , gem adapter ,sag four speed, and a 63 chevy rear while it was here . Red and white tuck and roll ,chrome moldings in all the windows ,solid no rust car with couple shallow dents.

When Squeak picked it up I knew it would turn out nice.

I didn't know until viewing this thread that Plymouth ever made a two door wagon in 1960. I'm in love. Thanks for posting Axle.

Axle...you have got the coolest 36' on the planet! I cant get enough of it!

  29. It was great fun as usual, thanks to all the Shifters for their efforts. The Lonely Knights always enjoy the weekend and this year brought 30 people in 16 cars.

Congratulations to Mike Collins on picking up the "KINGPIN" award. It went to him and his slammed, flamed Buick sled. Very deserving custom and owner.

Best of all, I never saw Yanceys ass all weekend, which I consider a major acomplishment.

    Johnnie.
