Lots of cops with big ticket books. No thanks.

  3. No car on the road atm :( so tagn along in a 55chev.

I reckon the cops will be ok if your car is. From what i have seen the things they are targeting seem just regular road-worthy stuff.

If your car is suspect then i wouldn't take it.

    Looking forward to it!

18 hour drive and we will be there in 52 Chev two door sedan, travelling with 50 Ford P/U and 37 Chev coupe from Sydney.
Surely the law wont pull in every car, hope not.
    Cheers

I'll be there in the only thing i've got on the road my HR. This year will be very interesting with some magazines already warning the cops will be out in full force treating the car comunity like we are criminals just because we enjoy our hobby. Don't these ****ers realize how much money we bring to the town for the weekend and that our cars may be low and loud but most are in very good running condition because we enjoy maintaining and repairing them. Sorry to start, but i'm sick of being treated like **** for not driving a plastic grocery getter!

yeah well unless you're being stupid i think you'll be fine.
last year cops (from what i heard) only targeted stupid drivers, but they were pretty lenient. There was that bloke with that black EH which was basically a full blown drag car that they let drive around, just made him stop when it got dark.
I recon if they come down as hard as you're suspecting Wardog, there will be an uproar from the community.

Hey Ryan you are correct about the cops targeting the people doing the silly things. The seven years i've been going for i've had no trouble but also hav'nt caused any.
I think i was a little tired and grumpy the last time i posted! Still can't wait for the show, i'll have the whole family up on Tuesday and am around untill Monday

I'll be there on the Sunday, taking my Bike for the day, then up over Hotham and do the big round trip back to Melbourne, through Gippsland, making a couple of family stops on the way around. Covers about 1,100 klms. I'd love a quick refreshment at Bright.

Brights not really a HAMB type event more street rody , so don't be too surprised if you don't get a lot of us there. And most of us know the other HAMBer's who will be there and will catch up over the course of the weekend anyway.

Its a small place so hard not to run into people.

I have young kids so I wont commit to any time but will probably wear my HAMB T shirt.

Sunday is probably your best bet though with the show and shine as most will be there.

regardless I hope the weather is great and we all have a good time.

I'm looking forward to a bright brewery for a porter or two and their witbier, hell there all good.

Yeah, but last year they didn't send up 30+ Highway Patrol specifically for the purpose of defecting cars. Not checking for speeding, dangerous driving but checking that cars are the correct hight, quiet, tyres aren't too fat etc.

Hell i got done for too loud/ too low at 8:00AM on a Sunday driving to the carwash 1 block from my house. Not gonna drive 4hrs one way to walk home.

Remember, it's not up to them to prove your car is illegal, it's up to you to prove it isn't. That means a trip to Vicroads if they don't like the look of your car.

Ha ha, my HAMB shirt doesn't fit any more (and it didnt shrink). Know your point about street roddy, so I'll just pay a visit to the Bright wreckers car at 12 noon and see who is lurking. Otherwise I park on the left side of the field as you come in from town. Next to mer will be a flat black F1 pickup surrounded by pigs (he collects all sorts of pigs, but I dont say nuthin')
I am sure we will all have a good weekend, weather we hook up or not.
    Drive safely.

I'll be giving it a miss this year.

Did you know there's an additional new event in Bright too, starting up next March? I saw a flyer for it at the Picnic at the weekend.
