You may want to check your room confirmations. I called this morning and booked my room, the hotel is no longer a part of the Holiday Inn family, they are now called the "Downtown Detroit Hotel and Suites" The hotel is not on their website anymore, and the phone tree at the number goes to a reservation service that doesn't have the hotel listed in their database. your room reservations may still be fine, but it would be worth it to check them out again.
Q: "So did you build this car in the Great 8?" A: "No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night." Thanks for the heads up
True, I got an email from the Hotel, and they are now in the process of changing brand names, they will probably be a Best Western but Hampton and a couple of others are in the running also. Or reservations are still good and this change will have no effect at all on the room block. When you call to get a room be sure to put it in the HAMB block so that you get the 91.00 rate. That rate is also available to the show block but lets make them aware of the power of the HAMB. BB
Just walked by there yesterday during Auto Show press week and noticed the old Holiday Inn signs were covered over in black plastic! Hopefully this hotel doesn't have the same fate as the famous old Ponchatrain!
I noticed that there was no listing for the hotel right across the street anymore, that was the Ponchatrain at one time. What happened to it?
