I left this morinng for the 1932 Ford Run and came back on a rollback. I was riding along on I-85 and the 1946 Merc engine died. The car has a 1942 Ford distributor on 12 volts and a 1955 Chevy resistor before the 12 volt coil. I noticed a couple of hesitations before it died. After I got back home I hit the starter button and it fired right up. I am thinking mabe the coil got hot. Any ideas?
