Art & Inspiration 2012 hamb calendar submissions

So it's that time again. HAMB calendar time (9th Annual... have I really been doing this for 9 years?)... You supply the photos... I put it together... You buy one for everyone you know... Ryan gets the proceeds... and you get a kick ass calendar with images suitable for framing. Everyone wins. Previous calendars are collectors items now and, they have won an award or two, so... submit your work and get famous.

Here's the skinny. I need photos. Not your everyday run of the mill, this is my car at the local cruise night photos... Photos that when you look at them, you automatically get it. You know, that same feeling when you stop and just stare at your ride. The photos in the calendar are about passion... spreading the gospel. Think Garage magazine, Church magazine, etc.

Requirements: Post your submissions in this thread. You MUST have hi res version of the photo for it to be used. I've gotten some really unbelieveble photos in the past, but couldn't use them cause they were taken on the camera's lowest quality setting. That depresses me. And if you post a pic you thought was cool from the HAMB that you didn't take, then find out who took it and then post it. I won't chase them down if you don't know who took it. And heavy Photoshop filtered images don't have a place in the calendar. If I like the composition, you'll have to supply the virgin image.

Regarding pin up shots. That would be cool, but they have to be tasteful and artistic. This ain't Hustler.

Format: The calendar this year will again be HORIZONTAL. and identical in format and feel as last year, ie the sketchbook style with some pull outs. COLOR PHOTOS ONLY. Don't clog the thread with kick ass b/w photos. As much as I love them, it's pointless to post them. Last year took 2 printings because of the demand. We'll try to have a better handle on the quantities this year. Also last year we had some paper issues from our supplier that ate alot of time. That won't happen this year and you'll have them prior to January. Printing will be handled by HAMBer Jarzenhotrods at Red Line Printing.

Post your pic here. If it gets selected, I will contact you for the hi rez.

Deadline is 2 weeks from today... October 11, 11:59pm (to give the folks going to the Pileup a day or two to get it together) with final selection in that following week or two. If I can't get ahold of you pretty quickly for your photo, I will move on. If you are selected, just like last year, you will need to write a small paragraph on what the photo means to you as a HAMBer. Don't be afraid, it's pretty simple.

Wow calendar already!? This year went by fast. Can't wait to get another one, last years was awesome. So will this be a '56 calendar?

I agree with RoadFarmer, the 2011, uh - I mean 1955 calendar, is a great piece! Looking forward to see how it will be "topped" for 2012!

Really, you give the masses too much credit.

It'll be page 2 and the probably the 5th person posting pictures. If we get really lucky it'll be of their own car and they will apologize for it by saying "I know it's black and white but it's so cool I just had to include it."
