What I'd like to know is after all the painting, plating etc. etc. how they can re-assemble these cars with not one scratch, chip or nick ???

I was sayin "go Dustin and Davis" til I saw the 36...but if the "most beautiful" is the car I wish I'd a built, it's Dustin's T bone.
    Best wishes....

I suppose you're not referring to both front and rear cheese graters, i.e. land of a thousand louvers.;)

That's a nice car too, 36(?). Not sure how I missed it. Didn't see it the first 2 times around.
    And those last pictures look
    A country mile better!
    Where are they from.

And that's a simple looking car, with about a million small details.

Is there some deal going around, the majority runs the same wheel in different configuration. Color, color and pollished, chrom and gold-ish.
Are they lake style 2 or something like thst?

Incredibly nice HOT ROD ! I saw the car being built in Ellis Simmons garage. An incredibly fine masterpiece. My vote for AMBR !!!
    Good luck from Sweden!

  12. The Myer '36 is a cool as hell hot rod, love the interior, but an AMBR winner??? I have never liked the all over cheese grater look. Louvers like anything can be over done and that is well overdone. Unfortunately I think it may have the 9 footer sewn up. My view, there are definitely more beautiful roadsters in the running.

Good luck to Ellis Simmons and the small group of people that made that 36 a reality in a little garage in Newark, Delaware. No artist's renderings, from his mind to reality. A very gifted individual indeed.

Comments like this are really uncalled for. Please take a step back and try to see the big picture, vis-a-vis the great progress the AMBR cars have taken in the traditional direction over the past several years. We have come a long way in the right direction. Really don't think anyone who cannot/does not produce cars to this level of finish has the right to categorically denigrate them. Sure don't see the best builders bashing the other entries. A little respect, please.

I'd say it is a more interesting batch of cars than a lot we have seen in the past when the all out show only cars that will never get driven as they are too impractical or uncomfortable to drive were the rule rather than the exception.

You do see the old "I got add more of" thing going on on some that guys building show cars always seem to get caught up in and fall in the trap of. That gives us the chance to sit back and tell our selves "that car would be perfect if only they hadn't added more________ to_____.

Wheel choices, It's pretty obvious that hot lick at the moment won over best choice for the build in several cases.

At any rate DAMN, here is another GNRS that I am not going to make it to so take lots photos for us who didn't get to go to see what was there and what was going on.

I'm really diggin the 36 , craftsmanship and detail, BUT if I were a judge I would not like the wilwood masters on the firewall , really clutters it up ,the header caps in the fenders ( the car is just to clean, and pretty for that ugly cap, and little more restrain on the race car tin work interior , needs more fabric.... The cars is bitchin but that is the kinda stuff that gets picked apart... I think it has a good chance though!...

The grasshopper Is soo cool , but unfortunately no matter how perfect it is I think most will just see an old race car concious or unconscious ...

The rest seem to be just nice cars.. No superstars ... I like a couple of the 32s but they are pretty played out..

1,600 hp might be a bit over the top, eh Steve? Excessive excess.

I see four or five that belong there and a bunch of stretches...

I'd vote for Chris' roadster over all of those I think.

I'am partial too Larry Christensen's half channeled 32. That thing screams Hot Rod,
and has such a nice stance.

My two favorites are the Christensen and Hetland 32's. Thirty Six is following very closely behind.
