DSCF3792.JPG Seeing it's a Bonneville thread I'm hoping for some tolerance for our off topic machine. JC

I made one last try for a room today and nadda unless I wanted to stay for a week. Guess its tenting for me If I cant horn in on a cancellation.

In the past there has been auctions for save the salt, is that happening again this year? Do we need to bring something to auction off?

Sorry you cant make it Tman. I always enjoy talking with you, I learn a lot. I talked with Mctim via PM and he is bringing me some shirts so I can fill some requests Ive gotten at home for them.

look forward to pics this week as everyone sets up to get ready to run

  9. The 974 car and some of the crew arrived yesterday. We will be on the left side of the first pit road. All track side spots were taken late yesterday. It will be no less fun though.

T- man.....I ran into Tim last night at the car show, also Bob K.

Salt looks good and felt fine under my daily. Looks like it's gonna get mushy at the end of the road though.

Thanks for all of the advice, I'm a newbie to the flats but my career is in racing and I'll be coming from the event at what was Miller Motorsport Park over the weekend.

Sunscreen in the now recognized appropriate places - check.
Hat - might need some adjustment as I'm not a hat wearer and just bought a cap.
Tape and trash bags for the floor of the rental car - check. ( I plan to have another pair of shoes in the trunk that I can slip on before entering the car and put the "salty" shoes in a plastic bag ready for the next day.
Identify car wash locations - check. Might do this each day as well as on my way back to the airport for good measure.
Room - check. I've had my room booked since April, took a gamble on the event even being held considering the last two years.
Water - check. Have stocked up on bottled water, just a little concerned about how to carry enough for the day if the walk along the pit area alone is measured in miles...
Food - is there anything available out there? Food trucks etc?

Not 100% certain on the layout but will learn more when I get there. I'd like to know more about the optimal place to park as a daily visitor, apparently I'm going to be doing a lot of walking if I want to see both the pit area and the start line. I ***ume I can drive further out if I want to see more of the course. Newbie stuff, I'm sure I'll get the lay of the land...

I do know a few people who are racing so will no doubt be able to get some advice while I'm out there but don't want to be woefully unprepared going in. It is just me and my legs so can't carry a whole lot.

  13. #974 got in line this morning and we had a leak in one of the inter coolers when we put water in the tanks. Had to bring it back to the pit. Not repairable so was put back together and back in line late in the day without water int inter coolers. Hooley ran it down - actually his first p*** in this configuration - spun all the way to the 3 and way short on miles per hour as a result. We will need to put some traction in tomorrow. That's racing.

We're just glad to be there!
