Have you ever dreamed of driving a 100 year old car 3400 miles across the North American Continent? Well now is your chance. The Race of the Century has emerged as the premier Coast to Coast event for 100 year old automobiles. In September of 2016 The Race of the Century will take around 50 1916 and older cars from Atlantic City ,New Jersey to San Diego, California, over 16 days on the road, with just under 300 miles a day. This will be a true endurance challenge with one winner being chosen at he end. The oldest , smallest vehicle to do every mile without penalty will win the Jeff Decker Bronze Trophy. If you think this will be easy, you are wrong. Even if your car runs flawlessly this will be a huge challenge for the drivers. 8 to 9 hours per day for 16 days, with only one day off will be brutal. We are however allowing 2 driver/navigators per vehicle without penalty. Unlike the Great race, this event will be judged on miles completed in a certain time span per day. Detailed course instructions will be given each day, prepared by John Classen who has over 25 year in the business. This inaugural event is being presented by Motorcycle Cannonball, www.motorcyclecannonball.com . We have 3 successful events under our belt and in 2016 will run both events in conjunction with each other. The Cannonball is currently full with 100 pre 1917 motorcycles, and the automobile event already has 15 confirmed entries. We are actively looking for some interesting cars for this once in a lifetime event. If you have any interest in this challenge, please check out our official website at www.centuryrace.com and look for our official announcement and press release in the coming weeks.
