This not completely true. Many changes have occurred to make it unappealing to a lot of folks. Cost, mismanagement, and a total lack of asking the people what they want. I would have expected an apology from the promoter for last year letting the public know that they were doing everything in their power to rectify the missteps of last year but nothing. Take out a full page ad in Street Rodder or something but no, Nothing but crickets

    from DFW,Texas!

I went today, and will go again tomorrow. Swap meet looked pretty full. Vendor building less than half full. Sadly, not that many roadsters today. It's been sliding downhill since the 51st one. I've been going regularly since the mid 80's. Weather is a LOT better than the last two years, 2016 and 2017 were REALLY HOT! Spectator crowd is WAY down. I love this show and will continue to support it, but it's gonna take lots of other folks coming back to keep it going.

  3. A mate has a Ford Australia factory built 1940 Ford Roadster, these were built here using the same basic body shell from 1937 to the last of them in 1940, apparently there were less than 50 built in 1940, here in Oz Ford Australia also built convertibles in 1940, the main difference between the 1940 Roadster and Convertible is that the roadster has no side windows, only side curtains whereas the convertible has wind up door windows.............its not gunna happen but would my mates genuine 1940 Roadster be able to gain entry to this event?...........will find a pic of it.......Andy Douglas

I thought 36 was the cut off. That and because roadsters also have removable windshield posts. The carry on Australian ones were kind of half breeds.

They had no problem with my Dearborn Deuce, kind of looks like a roadster if the windows are down. I suspect Cabriolets would be allowed. I was told when I asked that any body style pre '37 with a top that could go down was fine in the roadster area.
I hadn't herard about removable windshield posts being part of the consideration for entry.

Just came back from the LA Roadster Show.Had a good time even though there was fewer roadsters and less venders in the swap meet then last year it seemed to me. I hope it picks up next year and i will go again as long as they have it. It needs our support otherwise what would we do on fathers Day?

I was more talking about what makes a roadster a roadster, as opposed to a convertible or cabriolet.
